Here I'll tell you about the joys and challenges of self-publishing this series.
Entry#1
I've spent the past year working with a web developer for the Grievance Site, which is almost complete. I found an amazing cover artist who did all of my character illustrations and next I'll be working on the Book Trailer and Marketing of the series.
But here's the first GOLDEN NUGGET of advice:
If you're writing a serial novel (meaning a novel broken into parts) write the entire series before publishing the first. If you don't, you'll burnout from the pressure. If you're lucky your series will developed a fan base. Those fans are like a pack of sugared up kids on Halloween night, they cant get enough and as a writer you'll be pressured to push the next episode out before they've forgotten about you.
Fan's are also so awesome to comment on things they like about the story and things they hope will happen. This can cause you to shift your own ideas to "give the readers what they want." Please take my advise and write the serial you want to tell and if you do it well, the fans will follow :o)
